Fresno police arrested two Fresno residents and two Texas women Wednesday on suspicion of selling marijuana and marijuana cultivation after finding more than 650 marijuana plants and $50,000 at a southeast Fresno home.
Police were notified that two Texas women were at a residence in the 400 block of South Lind Avenue to make a marijuana purchase.
When officers arrived, the residence reeked of marijuana and people were running out the back door. One of the persons fleeing was carrying a car tire, police reported.
Detectives obtained a search warrant and found 650 live marijuana plants, 180 individually-packaged 1 pound bags of marijuana and 10 large garbage bags containing about 140 pounds of plant clippings potentially for butane honey oil processing.
Police also found more than $50,000 in the tire that was dropped in the backyard.
Officers arrested the two Fresno residents as well as two women from Fort Worth, Texas. Detectives believe the Texas women were going to drive the marijuana back to Texas that night.
All were booked in the Fresno County Jail.
