Blood drive to help injured Selma firefighter

The Fresno BeeFebruary 14, 2014

Fresno and Selma firefighters will be holding a blood drive Tuesday for Selma firefighter Chris Nelson, who was injured Feb. 8 during a training drill.

The blood drive will be at Fresno Fire Department headquarters, 911 H Street, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Nelson was hurt in a fall from a 24-foot-long ladder last weekend during training when he apparently passed out about halfway down, according to Selma Fire Chief Mike Kain.

A fund has been set up for Nelson's family at Union Bank in Selma. For more information call Selma Fire Department, (559) 891-2211.
