Two plastic hothouses holding about 400 marijuana plants were discovered by Fresno County sheriff's deputies Thursday in the Squaw Valley area, spokesman Chris Curtice said.
The plants were in the 45000 block of Panorama Lane. Curtice said detectives found four medical marijuana recommendations at the grow site and gathered information that led them to the 1000 block of North Sierra Vista Avenue in Fresno, where an additional 100 plants were found in a backyard hothouse. Three people were taken into custody at the two sites: Intong Sivixay, 53, Pathinh Sivixay, 67, and Monh Phonasasivixay, 65. They were booked on charges of marijuana cultivation and possession of marijuana for sale.
Curtice said Sheriff Margaret Mims will aggressively enforce a Fresno County ordinance against cultivation of marijuana along with state and federal laws. Anyone with information about marijuana grow sites is asked to call the drug tip hotline, (559) 600-8423 or online at email@example.com.
