Selma to enforce water restrictions

The Fresno BeeFebruary 13, 2014

The city of Selma will enforce water regulations under the city's water conservation ordinance starting April 1.

Selma City Manager D-B Heusser said that residents will receive three warning notices before being cited for using too much water, and if cited they can be fined up to $500.

Under stage three water conservation, residents with even numbered addresses will be allowed to water lawns and landscaping on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Odd numbered addresses can water on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

There will be no watering on Mondays, and watering is prohibited from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

For more information on the stage three water conservation, call Selma City Hall at (559) 891-2200, or the California Water Service Company at (559) 896-4546, or visit
