The last five of 39 defendants in a series of cases targeting the Nuestra Familia organization pleaded guilty in court last week, U.S. Attorney Benjamin B. Wagner said.
Calixtro Israel Sanchez, 26, of Hanford, Jose Velez, 31, of Delano, Felipe Ramirez, 33, of Visalia, Christopher Medrano, 32, of Hanford and Florentino Acosta, of Mexico, pleaded guilty last week to drug trafficking offenses.
Wagner said that all five defendants are scheduled to be sentenced in April.
All the defendants were members or associates of the Nuestra Familia, a violent Hispanic prison gang based within the California prison system.
