4 finalists under consideration for Fresno State provost job

Four finalist candidates for Fresno State's provost/vice president for academic affairs will visit the campus and meet faculty, staff and students in forums starting next week.

An 11-member search committee of university faculty, staff and students was chaired by Brian Tsukimura, professor in the department of biology.

The candidates are:

  • Bonnie Irwin, dean of the College of Arts & Humanities -- Eastern Illinois University
  • Lynnette Zelezny, associate provost -- California State University, Fresno
  • Scott Ryan, dean of the School of Social Work -- The University of Texas at Arlington
  • Christopher Ingersoll, dean of the College of Health Professions -- Central Michigan University

The new provost will succeed Dr. William A. Covino, who became president of California State University, Los Angeles in September.
