Fugitive rounded up in Clovis neighborhood

Authorities arrested a man suspected of probation violation on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, in a Clovis neighborhood near Ashlan and Winery avenues.


A U.S. marshal's team arrested a man sought on a probation violation in connection with mail fraud Wednesday afternoon near Ashlan and Winery avenues in Clovis.

A nearby school, Viking Elementary, was locked down during the search.

The arrest took place about 12:45 p.m. after the man, identified as Xiong Vang, 24, jumped from a car and ran barefoot from officers after an attempted traffic stop. He was later taken into custody in a house that was being reconditioned.
