In July 2010, Marina Hambly and Patrick Hoare were vacationing with 11-month-old daughter Lily at Yosemite National Park when Hoare had a massive stroke. Hoare, then 48, was flown to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno. He would be a patient there for eight weeks. In February 2014 the family returned to Fresno to be guests at the Valentine's Day wedding of Dr. Tanya Warwick, Hoare's neurologist.
