In response to Donna L. Clemons' letter Feb. 4: I simply want to find out how much time she has spent with repeat juvenile offenders? What do you say to a 12-year-old who attempted to kill his parents because they set some rules for him after he committed wrongdoing and was caught? What do you do for a 14-year-old who is on his third placement into a residential facility for rehabilitation, runs away again and fights a police officer after breaking the law?
Parents and guardians create juvenile criminal behavior, not law enforcement. Baby-sitting them is not the answer.
The juveniles who attacked the 92-year-old veteran never should have been knocking on doors to see who was home, anyway. Were they selling Girl Scout cookies, vacuum cleaners or encyclopedias?
You take responsibility for your choices in life.
