Fresno Pacific's Joshua Banuelos was named the Pacific West baseball player of the week while senior right-hander J.D. Salles earned co-pitcher of the week honors from the conference.
Banuelos, a junior first baseman who transferred from Fresno City College, hit .688 (11 for 16) with four doubles and seven RBIs in four games.
Salles, a senior right-hander, pitched seven innings and earned the win in the Sunbirds' home opener, scattering six hits and giving up one earned run. In two starts this season, Salles has a 2.08 ERA with 15 strikeouts in 13 innings.
Fresno Pacific (3-3) hosts San Francisco State this weekend for a three-game series beginning at 6 p.m. Friday.
