Fresno State was picked to finish fourth in the Mountain West in the preseason poll of the conference's baseball coaches.
Defending champion San Diego State and New Mexico were picked as the favorites, with each receiving 43 points and three first-place votes.
Fresno State received 25 points, with the Bulldogs coming off a 26-33 overall season that included a 14-16 conference record.
The Bulldogs open the season with three games this weekend UC Irvine. First pitch Friday is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Cicerone Field at Anteater Ballpark. Irvine was picked to finish fourth in the Big West this year after going 33-22 overall (15-12 Big West) last season.
