2 Hanford Walmart employees investigated for embezzlement

The Fresno BeeFebruary 10, 2014

Two Walmart employees in Hanford are being accused of embezzling about $900 from the store, Hanford police reported.

Officers investigated a customer service manager who used another employee's identification number to apply discounts to two purchases of a large amount of merchandise. The manager would override the original price of the purchase, costing the company $675.

The two purchases being investigated were done for the same two males, but the manager denied knowing the men. She did, however, admit to conducting similar transactions six other times.

Investigators found another customer service manager committed similar thefts amounting to more than $300, police said.
