Madera County's Ronald McDonald House to host open house

The Fresno BeeFebruary 10, 2014

The Ronald McDonald House in Madera County will celebrate 30 years of serving 20,000 families with an open house Wednesday.

The charity will also announce its expansion of services, including a day room and golf cart.

The day room will provide multiple families who are unable to stay in the main house a place to nap, do laundry and have meals. The day room could potentially serve 50 families per month, in addition to the families who stay overnight in the facility, located next to Children's Hospital Central California.

The golf cart will transport families staying at the house to the hospital entrance.

The open house will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 9161 Randall Way, Madera, and will include a tour and lunch.
