Fresno County health officials said Monday that a man in his 20s with health problems died of influenza. He is the 18th flu-related death in Fresno County and the 30th death in the central San Joaquin Valley.

The latest death was from the H1N1 influenza A virus, also called swine flu. The virus has been associated with almost all of the flu deaths reported in the Valley. California requires hospitals to report influenza deaths of people under age 65.

On Friday, California health officials said 202 influenza deaths had been reported and an additional 41 were under investigation.
