Northern California top-ranked Fresno City College doggedly hung on through a wet Friday and into early Saturday, but gained a split of a doubleheader with No. 11 Sacramento City at John Euless Ballpark.
Ryne Dean's walk-off single in the ninth got the Rams the 4-3 victory in a nightcap that ended just after midnight.
Sacramento City won the opener 5-1.
• Dillon Kelley hit a two-run single and Christian Gastelum a two-run double as Sequoias scored seven in the third and opened its own tournament by routing Hartnell 15-5 in eight innings, giving the No. 15 Giants (4-1) four straight wins. Dylan Lee (2-0) fanned eight in seven innings against the Panthers (1-3).
• Satchel Goodwin's walk-off single in the 12th gave Reedley a 2-1 victory over Golden West of Huntington Beach. The Tigers (3-3) beat NorCal No. 9 Marin 9-0. Josh Montelongo hit a three-run home run.
• Sophomore right-hander Marcus Wood pitched a six-hitter, allowing one earned run, but was done in by an error as Porterville fell 3-2 to visiting Ohlone. The miscue came in a three-run third for the Renegades (2-1). The Pirates (1-3-1) put two on with two out in the ninth but could not score.
