Tollhouse Crossing under construction in Clovis

The city of Clovis is seeing apartment development activity alongside a boom in new homebuilding projects.

The latest is Tollhouse Crossing, an 87-unit single-story complex at the corner of Tollhouse and Fowler avenues, from Thomas R. Butler, Inc.

The development will have one, two and three-bedroom floor plans ranging from 731-square-feet to 1,190-square-feet. The apartments will have washers and dryers and a tankless water heater.

The complex, expected to open in the fall, will have a swimming pool, a social room with kitchen for private events, a fitness center and 31 single garage units. Rents will range from $900 to $1,300, according to Robert L. Jensen & Associates, the property management company.

The city council earlier this week gave another apartment project the green light to proceed. The council approved a zone change that will allow an apartment development to be built on 3.15 acres at Temperance and Ashlan avenues.

The developer, Schussing Co., has yet to file plans for the site, but the zoning would allow for up to 47 apartments.
