Sequoias rallied from an 11-point second-half deficit to stun state No. 2-ranked Fresno City College 76-67 in a Central Valley Conference men's basketball game, snapping the Rams' 20-game winning streak.
Fresno City (23-2, 6-1) also saw a 45-game conference winning streak halted as the Giants (11-13, 6-2) got 11 second-half points each from Chris Ross, Brantley Bynum and Cameron Peck.
Bynum led the Giants with 18 points and Chris Smith had 14 points, 10 rebounds and five assists.
Eddie Ramirez's season-high 24 powered Reedley (11-10, 4-3) to a 69-59 win over Merced (2-18, 1-7).
Rams women bounce back
Keyora Wharry had a game-high 34 points and 19 rebounds to lead state No. 3 Fresno City past No. 11 Sequoias 85-72 as the Rams women regained sole possession of first place in the CVC.
The Rams (22-3, 7-1) trailed 39-38 at halftime, but Wharry's layup gave Fresno City a 40-39 lead and it never trailed again. Tyricia Payne had 21 for the Giants (19-6, 6-2).
Merced went on a 26-2 second-half run after Reedley closed within a point and the No. 16 Blue Devils rolled to a 66-43 victory. Sonji Green (Edison) had 19 points and 15 rebounds for Merced (17-8, 6-2). Eboni Surgick led the Tigers (2-19, 1-7) with 14 points.
Jayla English scored 14 points to lead West Hills-Lemoore past Porterville 52-47. The Golden Eagles are 13-11 and 4-4. Alia Alvarez scored 15 for Porterville (2-19, 0-7).
Hancock routs West Hills in baseball
Kyle Smith hit a three-run double and South No. 15 Allan Hancock scored five in the third en route to an 8-0 nonconference baseball victory over visiting West Hills.
