Fresno State professor named to Valley air board

A 59-year-old Fresno State professor has been appointed to the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District governing board, Gov. Jerry Brown's office announced Wednesday.

Since 2005, John Capitman of Tollhouse has held multiple positions at Fresno State, including executive director of the Central Valley Health Policy Institute.

The position requires Senate confirmation. There is no compensation.
