Valley middle school science teams to compete in regional contest

Young Valley science whizzes are putting their brains to the test this month as they vie for a chance to compete in the National Science Bowl.

Middle school Science Bowl teams will meet at the regional competition at Fresno State on Feb. 15. The winner will get an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C., in April, where bright teens from around the country will face off in the National Science Bowl contest.

Schools participating in the regional competition include:

Quail Lake Environmental Charter School, Clovis

Firebaugh Middle School, Firebaugh

Sutter Middle School, Fowler

Carden School of Fresno, Fresno

Edison Computech 7-8, Fresno

Granite Ridge Intermediate, Fresno

Iris Marban, Fresno

Sequoia Middle School, Fresno

Huron Middle School, Huron

El Monte Middle School, Orosi

Fairmont Elementary, Sanger
