Central High wide receiver Michiah Quick and Bakersfield quarterback Asauni Rufus have made Cal-Hi Sports elite All-State Football Team.
They were the only two Central Section representatives on the 30-player team, which culminates a series of Cal-Hi All-State teams that also included Medium Schools, Small Schools and Underclass.
Cal-Hi also announced Monday that Mendota running back Edgar Segura and Clovis North and Central linemen Tashon Smallwood made its All-State overall second team. Third-teammers included Clovis lineman Nick Nevills and Bakersfield All-Purpose players Jeremiah Reddick and Derrick Vickers.
Segura was earlier named Cal-Hi's Small Schools Player of the Year and The Bee's Player of the Year.
Quick is one of the few top prospects in the nation who hasn't made a college commitment. Central's school record-holder with 153 career receptions, he's expected to announce on Wednesday's National Signing Day among Oklahoma, USC, UCLA, Notre Dame and Alabama.
Rufus, apparently headed to Nevada as a defensive back, directed arguably the best offense in Central Section history. He rushed for 1,831 yards and 31 touchdowns and passed for 1,575 yards and 12 more scores in an option attack for the section and state's D-I titlist.
