A man was uninjured and his plane was not damaged when he made an emergency landing Sunday morning at the Visalia Airport, the city's fire department said.

Jim Martin from Livermore was flying a 1974 Piper Arrow to Southern California when he reported engine trouble and that he was losing altitude. He contacted the Fresno Flight Service and said he would make an emergency landing.

Martin safely landed the plane just before noon and was met by fire personnel, the department said.
