Three men were wounded in a shooting Monday afternoon in southwest Fresno.
The gunfire broke out about 12:40 p.m. at Holly and Rev. Chester Riggins avenues, Lt. Anthony Martinez said. The victims ranged in age from their 30s to 60s. The victims were reported to have non-life-threatening wounds and were rushed to a hospital.
The shooter reportedly arrived in a lime-green sedan, walked up to a home and opened fire, then fled in the vehicle. A law enforcement helicopter was searching for the distinctively colored car. Martinez would not comment on reports that the gunman was armed with a rifle. A witness who lives nearby reported hearing nine very loud gunshots. Police did not say whether the shooting was gang-related. The area has been plagued by gang violence.
