A vegetation fire sparked Saturday morning when a man allegedly started an illegal fire near Pine Flat was fully contained, Cal Fire spokesman Capt. Ryan Michaels said Sunday afternoon.
The blaze, which started about 6:30 a.m. Saturday, burned 106 acres. The fire presented challenges for firefighters who responded from multiple cities and districts, Michaels said. The main fire location was 20 miles off the road and in steep terrain.
The man suspected of starting the fire was arrested by Cal Fire personnel. Michaels said no other information was available about the suspect.
