The Fresno BeeJanuary 24, 2014

The Clovis Police Department will honor its Police Explorer Post on Saturday evening at the Clovis Rodeo Hall.

The 29 members of the post volunteered more than 3,150 hours of community service and trained for more than 2,500 hours in 2013. The post volunteered at 47 events last year.

Community donations funded the member's participation in law enforcement competitions, in which they won 13 trophies at three tournaments.

Twelve Clovis Explorers will receive awards for tenure, community service, community service hours, honor guard, perfect attendance, top gun, Advisor's Award and Explorer of the Year.

The banquet and ceremony, located south of Clark Intermediate School on Clovis Avenue, will begin at 6 p.m.
