More ramp closures next week for braided ramp project

The Fresno BeeJanuary 24, 2014

Construction on the Highway 180 "braided ramps" project will force nighttime closures of several highway and street ramps connecting to the highway in central Fresno starting Sunday evening and continuing through most of the week.

The closures will begin each evening at 10 p.m. and reopen at 6 a.m. each morning:

• The connector ramp from northbound Highway 41 to eastbound Highway 180 will be closed Sunday night and Monday night.

• The connector ramp from southbound Highway 41 to eastbound Highway 180 will be closed Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

• The Chestnut Avenue on-ramp to westbound Highway 180 will be closed Wednesday and Thursday nights.

• The connectors from westbound Highway 168 and Highway 180 to southbound Highway 41 will be closed Thursday night.

The closures only affect the listed ramps. The main lanes of Highways 180, 41 and 168 will remain open during the work, but drivers are warned that they may want to find alternate routes around the construction zone during the work hours to avoid delays or congestion.
