Mt. San Antonio College offensive tackle Shaquille Davis was blown away by his visit to Fresno.
Davis came for an official visit to Fresno State last weekend and said two things stood out: the Bulldogs fan base and the dormitories at Fresno State.
"What I was really impressed about was the support of the Bulldogs by the city," Davis said. "Everywhere I went, there was something Bulldogs."
Davis said he was delighted to see the campus dormitories -- "some of the best I've seen yet" -- which could make his decision to become a Bulldog much easier.
"It helps because there are other schools that lack those," he said. "You noticed all the difference it makes in the location."
Davis, a 6-foot-4, 305-pound lineman from Pomona, said Fresno State is on top of his list.
He said he'll take a visit to Colorado State this weekend and Texas Tech next weekend before making his decision before or national letter of intent signing day on Feb. 4. Cincinnati, Iowa State, Florida Atlantic, Middle Tennessee State, New Mexico State and University of Tennessee-Martin have also expressed interest.
Fresno State offered Davis two weeks before the Las Vegas Bowl, he said.
Davis started all 11 games for the Mounties this past season and helped lead Mt. San Antonio to a 42-14 victory over Ventura in the Golden State Bowl. He was voted to the Southern California Football Association Central Conference first team.
