Outstanding Offensive Player: Bolu Olorunfunmi

School: Clovis North

Grade: Junior

His qualifications: Closed co-Tri-River Athletic Conference Player of the Year honors by rushing for 258 yards and two touchdowns in a loss in the Central Section Division I title game against Bakersfield, which would capture the state CIF D-I crown. Coming off a 1,000-yard season as a sophomore, he finished with 2,344 yards rushing, a 9.5-yard average per carry and 24 TDs for an 11-3 team that shared the Tri-River Athletic Conference championship with Central.

From the opposing boss: "Big, strong kid with elusive speed, great vision and very savvy football player who could read blocks and where to cut. The thing that really stood out to me is how he went downhill and hit holes. It normally takes awhile to go downhill, but he hit it in a hurry, and that scared us." — Bakersfield coach Paul Golla

From his own: "We brought him up for the playoffs as a freshman and we do that with very few freshmen. Obviously, he's progressing, and there's a lot of (major-college) interest. He's a power back, young, smart, intelligent, with a terrific family background; a good all-around kid. The Valley still has one more season to deal with him, and he's a load." — recently resigned Clovis North coach Cory Hall
