South Valley residents should be on alert for high winds blowing dust clouds that will significantly reduce visibility, the National Weather Service in Hanford said in an advisory.
The advisory takes effect on Thursday at 7 p.m. and is in effect until 4 p.m. Friday for the area from Bakersfield to Coalinga. Winds from the southeast are forecast between 20 mph to 30 mph, with gusts as high as 55 mph.
The dust could reduce visibility to 500 feet or less.
