The College of the Sequoias' October production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" is going places.

The production is one of eight out of 60 nominated shows from colleges and universities in the southwest region of the U.S. to be selected for presentation next month at the regional finals of the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival. The event will be held Feb. 12-15 at the Los Angeles Theatre Center.

If you didn't get a chance to see the show in October, there will be fund-raising performances 7:30 p.m. Thursday and next Friday at the College of the Sequoias Theatre in Visalia to kick off the road to L.A.

"We are looking to raise at least $30,000 for the 40-plus students, four faculty members and entire production to get down to Los Angeles," says director Chris Mangels, who penned the "Midsummer" adaptation.

Tickets are $20 general, $10 students both nights. VIP tickets for the Jan. 31 show are $100.

Details: (559) 730-3907.
