A 63-year-old Mariposa man was killed and his two young passengers were injured Tuesday afternoon in a two-vehicle collision west of Mariposa, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The man, who has not been identified, was driving a 2007 Toyota Corolla west on Indian Peak Road as he approached a stop sign at the intersection with Highway 49.
The CHP said the driver ran the stop sign and collided with a 2010 International truck driven by Timothy McFadden, 51, of Ahwahnee, who was southbound on the highway. The front of the truck hit the left side of the Toyota.
A 3-year-old Mariposa boy was taken to Children's Hospital Central California in Madera County and a 5-year-old boy was taken to John C. Fremont Hospital. McFadden was not injured.
