Community Housing Council moving to northwest Fresno

The Community Housing Council of Fresno is moving its offices from central Fresno to a building near Tahoe Joe’s restaurant on Shaw Avenue in northwest Fresno.

The move will happen at the end of the month with plans to open the new office, at 2650 W. Shaw Ave., on Feb. 3, said John Shore, executive director.

The nonprofit housing counseling agency has worked out of a 3,000-square-foot office tucked away from Blackstone Avenue, north of Ashlan Avenue, for the last four years, Shore said.

There is a lot of wasted space and the building is old, he said.

The new 2,200-square-foot office on Shaw is visible from the street and will have signage. There is also underground parking for employees.

After Feb. 3, homeowners will have to meet counselors at the Shaw Avenue location. All other contact information including the phone number will remain the same at (559) 221-6919.
