Cory Kachel scored one goal and had three assists in the Fresno Monsters' 6-1 home rout of the Seattle Totems on Sunday in the Western States Hockey League.
Kachel assisted Evan Ingram for the Monsters' opening goal and also scored 15:17 into the second period on assists from Ingram and Filip Winkler for a 4-1 lead. Fresno's Matthew Soldano had 11 saves.
The Monsters (26-4) have won six straight, including the weekend's three-game sweep of the Totems (10-16).
Bulldogs men's tennis team edged by Gaels
Fresno State's Sam MacNeil beat Saint Mary's Joakim Norstrom 6-5, 6-4 in the top-seeded singles match but the Bulldogs fell 4-3 to the host Gaels (2-0).
Sai Kartik Nakireddi and Ethan Lopez also won for Fresno State (1-1).
* Fresno State women finished the California Winter Invite in Berkeley with four singles wins over Cal Poly before losing three doubles matches to nationally ranked Cal. Sophie Watts, Anne Susdorf, Sofya Malysheva and freshman Claire Yang all took their matches in straight sets over the Mustangs.
