Men: Fresno City beats West Hills to extend win streak to 17
The Fresno City College men's basketball team continued its winning ways Saturday night.
Rich Tesmer scored 17 points as the top-ranked Rams cruised past West Hills 67-54 in a Central Valley Conference game, extending their winning streak to 17 games.
Fresno City (20-1, 3-0) never trailed and led 40-27 at halftime.
DeVonte Jenkins finished with a game-high 18 points for West Hills (10-7 and 2-1).
** Andre Frazier scored 17 points in Reedley's 64-61 victory over Porterville, in which the Tigers (9-8, 3-1) were 26 of 31 from the charity stripe, and the Pirates were 7 of 26. Jarred White led Porterville (6-11, 0-3) with 16 points.
Women: Rams win 66th straight in CVC
Jenae Alcantar scored a game-high 16 points in top-ranked Fresno City's 89-43 CVC women's basketball win against Porterville.
The Rams (19-2, 4-0) have won 66 straight conference games.
Keyora Wharry finished with 12 points and seven rebounds in 16 minutes. Nina Gregory also scored 12 points for Fresno City.
Alia Alvarez led Porterville (2-15, 0-3) with 12 points.
** Jayla English finished with 21 points, including 19 of 25 on free throws, as West Hills-Lemoore defeated Reedley 73-63. The Golden Eagles improved to 11-9 and 2-2, while the Tigers fell to 1-16 and 0-4.
