What readers said:"My uncle, the man who died, was a honest, caring, selfless, hard working individual who provided for his family and friends. He cared for others greatly and was a loving father, husband, uncle, grandfather, and brother. I will miss him dearly. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to the individuals who stood against evil and came to help during the senseless rampage. Despite the true evils of this world, none of it shall last when there really are good people who will not stand for it. Our hearts are broken, but we will remain resilient."

"CDCR should honor the Correctional Officer with a "medal of valor". Once the name of this correctional officer is provided this officer will get my nomination for sure."

What happened: The grandmother of a 2-year-old boy who almost drowned in a front-yard fountain just southeast of Fresno on Wednesday was arrested on suspicion of child endangerment, the Fresno County Sheriff's Office said.
What it means: Chou Vang was babysitting the toddler and a 4-year-old child at a home on East Olive Avenue. The Sheriff's Office said the kids were left to play unattended for at least 30 minutes.
What readers said:
"This story is ridiculous?! This grandmother is in jail, because she wasn't watching her 2 year old grandson, who almost drowned. But there is all these other races who "accidently" run over their kids and kill them, and they don't go to jail. Seems pretty racist to me."

"They left a 2 year old to play alone in a front yard, anyone who doesn't see the problem with that is an accident waiting to happen."
