It wasn't all brisk work and austere expressions during Gov. Jerry Brown's visit to Fresno and other San Joaquin Valley stops.
During a visit to Fulton Mall, Brown was treated to some canine diplomacy, courtesy of restaurant owner (and former city development director) Craig Scharton.
The two dog lovers chatted about their four-legged pals, Scharton's Peeves and Brown's Sutter (a.k.a First Dog). Here's an account of the encounter, courtesy of The Sacramento Bee's David Siders.
