Passengers killed in Highway 33 crash near Mendota identified

The two passengers who died in a single-vehicle crash late Tuesday afternoon on Highway 33 south of Mendota were identified by the Fresno County coroner as Ramon Reyes Castillo, 23 and Santiago Reyes Morales, 52.

The driver, Luis Reyes Castillo, 20, of Mendota, sustained moderate injuries in the crash. Luis Reyes Castillo was driving north and approaching Nebraska Avenue about 4:30 p.m. when his Toyota Camry veered off the road and hit a tree, the California Highway Patrol said.

Ramon Reyes Castillo was in the front passenger seat and Santiago Reyes Morales was in the back seat.
