Shannon Taylor has been fired as Kerman's boys basketball coach, four days after he received two technicals and was ejected but was reluctant to leave the court at Fowler in a 53-37 nonleague loss to the Redcats.
Taylor's actions caused the officials to call the game early in the fourth quarter, said Bob Kayajanian, supervisor of basketball officials for the San Joaquin Valley Officials Association.
Kerman Principal Jim Volkoff confirmed the firing and said Taylor, an off-campus coach who was in his first year with the Lions, has been replaced on an interim bases by Dave Bakholdin. He's a Kerman teacher and former coach of the program.
"Dave will finish the season and then we'll explore other options when the season is over," Volkoff said.
Kerman, 4-7, will play at home Wednesday night against Lindsay in a nonleague game.
