Man killed standing on Highway 99 is ID'd as Pennsylvania resident

The Fresno County Coroner's office has identified the man who was struck and killed while standing on Highway 99, south of American Avenue, on Dec. 29.

The man was Eric Nichols, 32, of King of Prussia in Pennsylvania.

Nichols was hit by a car just after 4 a.m. while standing in the slow lane of Highway 99 in Fresno between American Avenue and Clovis Avenue for an unknown reason, the California Highway Patrol said.
