The Sierra Foothill Conservancy is hosting an 8-ile round-trip hike to Smith Basin on Saturday. It is recommended for advanced hikers only as it has a 1,000-foot elevation gain to the table top then descends 800 feet into the basin.

There are a limited amount of spots available and Saturday is one of two times the Smith Basin hike will be offered this season. The hike takes about seven hours to complete.

The group will meet at 9 a.m. Saturday in the parking area. Participants should bring water, snacks or a lunch.
