The Fresno BeeDecember 29, 2013

Three people were displaced and one injured after a fire tore through their central Fresno home on Saturday night, the Fresno Fire Department said.

Firefighters were called to 1137 E. Bremer Ave. around 9:52 p.m. where a fire was fully involved in the attic space of the home.

Firefighters had to pull the ceiling down to attack the fire, causing heavy damage to the home, said fire spokesman Larry French.

A total of 15 firefighters were on scene, he said.

One civilian was injured but French did not know the extent of the injury. The American Red Cross is assisting the residents.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
