A 42-year-old woman from Eugene, Ore., is dead after a solo vehicle accident on Interstate 5, northeast of Coalinga, on Saturday night, the California Highway Patrol said.

The woman, who has not been identified pending notification of family, was driving north on Interstate 5, just south of Highway 198 in Fresno County, when she entered the dirt median and lost control of the vehicle about 8:48 p.m., the CHP said.

The vehicle overturned and the woman was thrown. The driver sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor in the crash, the CHP said. The accident is still under investigation.
