"The Great Cholesterol Myth Cookbook: Recipes and Meal Plans That Prevent Heart Disease – Naturally" by Jonny Bowden, Stephen Sinatra, Deirdre Rawlings. Nutrition authority Jonny Bowden plans a detailed meal program with 100 recipes that will counteract and reverse cardiac diseases.

"The Complete Illustrated Encyclopedia of Magical Plants: A Practical Guide to Creating Healing, Protection, and Prosperity Using Plants, Herbs, and Flowers" by Susan Gregg. This is the definitive handbook for using nearly 300 plants that surround you to improve your life and provide better health and inner peace.

Autobiographies

"Autobiography" by Morrissey. The singer and lyricist describes his life, thought and extraordinary career in music.

"Still Foolin' 'Em: Where I've Been, Where I'm Going, and Where the Hell Are My Keys?" by Billy Crystal. Funny and earnest remarks on growing old from one of this country's beloved comedians.

All library branches will be closing at noon on Tuesday, New Year's Eve, and will be closed all day on Wednesday in observance of New Year's Day.

Read to a Dog: Come read a story to Foley, our registered therapy dog from Tail Waggin' Tutors. For preschoolers and kids (K-6), 3-4 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30, at Pinedale Library. Details: (559) 439-0486.
