A multi-car crash on northbound Highway 41 just north of Ashlan Avenue in central Fresno is backing up traffic to McKinley Avenue, where California Highway Patrol Officer Marc McWilliams said several cars have since been involved in minor collisions resulting from heavy traffic.

At least four cars are involved in the crash, McWilliams said.

He said an ambulance is on the scene, although it's unclear if anyone was injured in the larger crash.

McWilliams said officers are working to open the lanes and the right-hand shoulder, where most of the crashed vehicles are now located.
