State of Journalism

PAUL SAKUMA — Associated Press

A major update to The Fresno Bee's iPad app was launched Wednesday. Not only is the look and feel improved, we've added several features, such as the ability to view the latest news video and an interface to improve reader commenting. These changes will enhance the reading and viewing experience of the work provided by The Bee's award-winning journalists.

While the tablet format is changing, readers will continue to get the most popular features of the previous version of the app, such as push notifications, bookmarking and article sharing.

We plan to soon follow Wednesday's improvements with a similar redesign of our iPhone apps that will heighten the interactivity of your local news experience. There will be more upgrades. Watch for exciting tablet-only content throughout 2014.

If you are reading this announcement on our website, we invite you to download our new apps in the Apple App Store. We also invite you to try our other recently released mobile products:
