A 4.1 magnitude earthquake centered alongside Interstate 5 near the Kings-Kern county line was felt in the central San Joaquin Valley late Thursday.

The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake at 11:49 p.m. was centered about halfway between the I-5 junctions with highways 41 and 46. The USGS used Lost Hills, about 15 miles south-southeast of the center, as a geographic reference.

Twitter users spread the news about the quake, although no damage was immediately reported.
