TULARE COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT

Tulare County sheriff's deputies are mourning the death of Beau, a service dog that was diagnosed recently with a brain tumor.

A sheriff's spokeswoman said Beau began experiencing seizures about four weeks ago. The seizures became worse and the tumor was discovered. Beau died Tuesday.

Beau served with Deputy Luis Carrillo. He was honored with several awards at service-dog trials. He was a fine patrol dog and also was trained to detect narcotics, the Sheriff's Department said.
