Two Christmas traditions are planned Saturday -- the 84th annual Downtown Fresno Christmas Parade and the 26th Children's Electric Christmas Parade.
The Fresno parade starts at 11 a.m. on Fulton Mall at Fresno Street. Floats, street performers, cheer groups, car clubs, community groups and more are expected to participate.
Parking is free downtown at all metered spots and city lots, said the organizing Downtown Fresno Partnership. Details: (559) 490-9966, ext. 223.
The Clovis parade is tonight in Old Town Clovis. The parade starts at 6:30 p.m. and is expected to last about an hour; organizers say there are about 80 entries including marching bands.
The parade starts and finishes at the Rodeo Grounds. Road closures begin in the area at 5 p.m.
The sponsoring Old Town Clovis Kiwanis Club has free shuttle service from the Sierra Vista Mall's Community Park. The shuttles will run from 5 until 9 p.m. or until after the parade ends.
