The Fresno County Library's Bookshelf column shares suggestions for books, music, and other items and provides information about library programs.

"My Life with Deth: Discovering Meaning in a Life of Rock & Roll" by David Ellefson with Joel McIver. Ellefson, cofounder and bassist of Megadeth, tells the behind-the-scenes details of life in one of the world's most popular heavy metal bands.

Friends of Gillis Branch Book Sale: Friends of Gillis Branch are having a public book sale, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, through Sunday, 529 W. Dakota near the Gillis Library. Details: 225-0140.

Snowman Tealight Ornament: Teens can make a fun holiday craft. All materials are supplied by the library, 4-5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, at the Bear Mountain Library. Details: 332-2528.
