Fresno County home foreclosure rate falls

The Fresno County foreclosure rate fell in September compared to a year ago, according to CoreLogic, a real estate tracking company based in Santa Ana.

 

The rate of foreclosures among outstanding mortgage loans in Fresno was 1.11%, compared to 2.23% a year earlier.

 

Fresno’s foreclosure rate was lower than the national rate of 2.29%.

 

In the Madera and Chowchilla area, the foreclosure rate was 1.23% in September, compared to 2.71% last year at the same time.

 

Also in Fresno, the mortgage delinquency rate decreased. Last month, 3.97% of mortgage loans in Fresno were 90 days or more late compared to 6.18% for the same period last year.
