The 28-year-old Clovis woman who was struck and fatally injured by a car Monday night has been identified as Falasha Mbulareyes, of Fresno, the Fresno County Coroner's Office said Wednesday.

The collision took place about 5 p.m. on Peach Avenue, south of Gettysburg Avenue. Clovis police said Mbulareyes wore dark clothing and crossed Peach Avenue where lighting was dim.

The 18-year-old driver of the car stopped and waited for officers to arrive. Mbulareyes was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, where she died after surgery.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor for either party, police said.
